Stories from the Land with Ryan McMahon

From the CBC Documentary Colonization Road, Indigenous Writer, Actor, and Comedian Ryan McMahon is an Anishinaabe media maker & community activator based out of Treaty #1 territory, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Armed with a degree in Theatre and as a graduate of the prestigious Second City Conservatory (Toronto), Ryan’s comedic storytelling style is fast paced, loose and irreverent as he explores the good, the bad and the ugly between Indian Country & the mainstream.  His presentation will discuss stories from the land, Canada 150 and what it means historically. Ryan will also discuss how there are opportunities for young writers and young Indigenous Canadians to create new stories for Canada. Ryan may also touch on topics covered in his new book the Great Indian Paradox, a series of essays which is a current work in progress.
