Reading For Pleasure with Emil Sher and Childrens' Book Fair

Do you have a hard time as a parent encouraging reading at home? Are you an educator trying to help parents to encourage more reading for their child? Or do you have a child who enjoys reading? Does your child want to share their reading experiences? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then you'll want to join Master educator and award winning children's author Emil Sher as he shares tips and tricks to help encourage reading for pleasure and the importance of reading to children at a young age. Emil will be joined by retired educator and now grandmother, Judi Straughn, who will share her experiences as a grandmother and the impact book clubs and allowing children to choose their own book adventures has had on her grandson.

Emil, along with local children's authors will also take part in a children's book fair, so parents and educators can leave the event armed with the right tools and knowledge to encourage more reading at home.

Local childrens' authors will take part in a Book Fair, pizza and pop will be available from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Panel presentation and discussion starts at 6 p.m.
