Join local authors and members of the Sudbury Writers' Guild through May 4th to May 12th, 2019 at a number of our anticipated events!

Thomas Leduc

Thomas Leduc was Poet Laureate of Sudbury, Ontario, 2014-16 and he’s currently the President of the Sudbury Writers’ Guild. His poems and short stories cover an array of subject matter including current events and zombie poetry. His work has been published in various magazines and anthologies. Recently Tom published his first book Slagflower Poems Unearthed From A Mining Town with Latitude 46. Andy Taylor

Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Andy Taylor currently works and lives in Sudbury. When he’s not busy being mistaken for the Sheriff of Mayberry or a member of a certain 80s British pop band, Andy spends his time writing about generally weird stuff. Andy’s short stories have appeared in Fictionvale Magazine and the Sudbury Writers’ Guild Anthology – Sudbury Ink. Andy has been a member of the Sudbury Writers Guild since 2007 and is an alumnus of the Viable Paradise writer’s workshop. Liisa Kovala

Liisa Kovala is a Finnish-Canadian teacher and writer. Her first book, Surviving Stutthof: My Father's Memories Behind the Death Gate (Latitude 46, 2017) was short-listed for a Northern Lit Award. A member of the Writers' Union of Canada, the Canadian Authors Association, and secretary of the Sudbury Writers' Guild, Liisa's fiction and non-fiction have been published in a variety of print and online journals and anthologies. She is currently working on a novel.

Dave Wickenden

Dave is a member of the Sudbury Writer’s Guild and the Canadian Union of Writers. His first novel, In Defense of Innocence was released in April 2018 and his second, Homegrown was released in June 2018. As of January 2019, Dave has been working with Filles Verte Publishing as an Editorial Intern. 

Vera Constantineau

Vera Constantineau is an internationally published poet and short fiction writer. Her work has appeared in online journals, print journals and in anthologies. She is a member of the Sudbury Writers’ Guild, the Manitoulin Writers’ Circle and Haiku Canada. She recently published her first collection of short fiction, Daisy Chained.

Rosanna Battigelli

Rosanna Micelotta Battigelli is a professional member of the Writers’ Union of Canada, the Canadian Authors Association, and the AICW (Association of Italian-Canadian Writers). An alumna of the Humber School for Writers, she has been published in sixteen anthologies. La Brigantessa (Inanna Publications, 2018) was awarded Gold for Historical Fiction in the 2019 Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards).

Bonnie Mathieu

Bonnie Mathieu is a children's book author and illustrator and member of the Sudbury Writers Guild. Her first book Irene the Muffin Queen was published in 2016 and Willow a Rescue Tail was published last year.

Chris Nash

Chris Nash's poetry and short fiction have been published and podcast in Canada and the US. Her novel Temperance Lloyd: hanged for Witchcraft in 1682 was published in 2012, and her novel Priest Hole in 2018.

Jenny Bingham
Jenny Bingham enjoyed participating in written and spoken word events in Sudbury. She began with Open Mic Nights at the Mackenzie Library, joined the Sudbury Writer’s Guild and took pleasure in presenting work at: Twisted Tales on CKLU, Capreol's Terror Train, and Sudbury’s Winter Art Crawl at One Sky. Her recent work can be found in the Laurentian University's Literary Journal Sulphur 2019 Vol VIII. More of her work will be found in the upcoming "Creepy Capreol, Jr. 2: Too Many Zombies!" in the summer of 2019.
